How the high-water mark works

Your high-water mark is the highest point your account's trading profit has reached while running PulseTrader Pro. We only charge a performance fee when the month closes above that mark, and only on the amount above it.

Importantly, the mark tracks profit the strategy produces — not the size of your account. If you add or withdraw funds, we adjust the mark by the same amount, so you're only ever charged on gains the strategy actually earned and never on money you deposited yourself.

Example

You start with $1,000.

Month one — your account closes at $1,200. That's $200 of new profit. The performance fee is 20% of $200, or $40. Your new high-water mark sits at $1,200.

Month two — the market turns and your account closes at $1,100. You're below the high-water mark, so there's no fee.

Month three — your account recovers to $1,250. You're $50 above the previous mark. The performance fee is 20% of $50, or $10. Your new high-water mark is $1,250.

You never pay twice for the same dollar of profit. If the strategy gives back gains, you don't pay again to earn them back.

What this means in practice

Three account sizes, both a good year and a flat year, so you can see exactly what you'd pay.

$500 account

  • Up 50% over the year (+$250 profit): you pay $50 in performance fees. You keep $200 of the $250 — about 80%.
  • Flat or losing year: you pay nothing. Your only cost is Bybit's standard trading fees on the trades themselves.

$1,000 account

  • Up 50% over the year (+$500 profit): you pay $100 in performance fees. You keep $400 of the $500 — about 80%.
  • Flat or losing year: you pay nothing.

$5,000 account

  • Up 50% over the year (+$2,500 profit): you pay $500 in performance fees. You keep $2,000 of the $2,500 — about 80%.
  • Flat or losing year: you pay nothing.

The numbers scale linearly. If your account doubles, the fee doubles. If your account goes nowhere, the fee is zero. There's no tier to outgrow and no minimum monthly charge to absorb.

How billing works

Performance fees are calculated automatically at the end of each calendar month, using read-only data from your Bybit account.

When you sign up, you authorise a payment method — card or direct debit — that we use solely to collect performance fees. The fee is charged to that method at month-end. It is never deducted from your trading account, because our API access is trade-only and cannot move your funds.

If a fee can't be collected, we'll get in touch to sort it out, and we may pause trading on your account until it's settled. Your funds stay exactly where they are — on your own Bybit account, under your control — the whole time.

If you sign up after the 15th of a month, your first partial month is free. Your first billable month is the following full calendar month.

Why this model is fair to us too

A pure performance fee with a high-water mark only works for us if the strategy actually works. That's the point. We'd rather grow alongside profitable accounts than collect fees from unprofitable ones, and pricing it this way keeps our incentives lined up with yours — month after month, not just at signup.

What to expect

  • $500 USD minimum in your Bybit account to get started
  • No setup fees
  • No monthly hosting fee
  • No lock-ins
  • 20% performance fee on new profit only, with a high-water mark
  • The mark adjusts for your own deposits and withdrawals, so you're only charged on real trading gains
  • Calendar month-end billing, charged separately to your nominated payment method
  • Trade-only API access — PulseTrader Pro never has withdrawal permissions
  • You keep control of your own Bybit account at all times

FAQ

A few quick answers that usually come up in the first conversation.

Do we need to watch it all day?

No. It is designed to run continuously with minimal intervention. You can review performance via the dashboard and logs.

Do you hold my funds?

No. You maintain custody. You control the Bybit account, permissions, and API keys.

Is it set and forget?

It is built for low-touch operation, but like any trading system, you should periodically review performance.

Can we stop it anytime?

Yes. You can revoke API keys at any time.

Who is it for?

People who want systematic, rules-based automation and are comfortable with market risk.

What do we need to get started?

A Bybit account and API keys. You provide the keys, we configure it, and it then runs 24/7.

When exactly is the performance fee charged?

Fees are calculated on the last day of each calendar month, using your Bybit account balance at midnight UTC. We compare that balance against your previous high-water mark, and 20% of any amount above the mark is the fee for that month. The fee is then charged to your nominated payment method within the first three business days of the following month. You receive an itemised statement each time.

What happens if I deposit or withdraw funds during the month?

We adjust your high-water mark for any funds you add or remove, so you're only ever charged on profit the strategy earns — never on money you deposit yourself. If you deposit $500 mid-month, we lift the mark by $500 so that capital isn't counted as profit. If you withdraw $200, we lower the mark by $200 so you're not penalised for taking profit out. The fee is always calculated on genuine trading gains, never on funds you've added or removed.
